Floating on Buffalo River

From canoeing and kayaking on the river, to camping options and music events, Buffalo River Resort provides opportunities for fun and relaxation. Floating earns a top spot when it comes to popular things to do on the Buffalo River. Whether you prefer canoes, kayaks or tubes, Buffalo River Resort has a variety of ways to get out and have fun on the river.

Bring your own watercraft and use the shuttle services or take advantage of the resort's rental options. Renting will provide you with a watercraft and shuttle to the drop-in spots so you can float right back the Buffalo River Resort. Make your trip as long as you would like. A five-mile float takes about two to three hours depending on your pace. If you’re ready to spend more time on the Buffalo River, opt for the eight-mile float instead, which will take anywhere from five to seven hours.


Camping at Buffalo River Resort

Why enjoy the resort for just a day if you can spend more time relaxing in nature? Take advantage of Buffalo River Resort's lodging options, including campsites, cabins and RV spots, to stay overnight. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and you can reserve a cabin, lodge or RV spot. The cabins can accommodate up to four adults and provide a full kitchen and bathroom.

If you’re planning a visit for a larger group, check out the Sunset Lodge, featuring four bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room and a fully equipped kitchen, plus an outdoor space with a wraparound porch, rocking chairs, swings, fire pit and private parking lot. Buffalo River Resort also has launched a partnership with the Flying Ham to provide a glamping experience where you can rent vintage style campers, glamping tents and indoor bubble tents.


Music Jam

Buffalo River Resort brings additional entertainment with music events, such as Buffalo River Jam. The all-day event every August features a well-known musician like Tyler Farr, a cornhole tournament, BBQ cook-off, and numerous food trucks and local vendors.

For more music excitement, check out Music on Main, Perry County's free outdoor concert series where you can listen to local artists and dance to the rhythms on Saturdays throughout the summer. Linden and Lobelville alternate to serve as hosts of the event.
