Wisdom from Hey Y'all. We were welcomed warmly by Cassy and Tony Grow, owners of Legacy Creamery in Tullahoma. Their inviting shop sits behind the former Coca-Cola building at 401 Wilson Avenue. They started Legacy Creamery in 2012 and it has grown into Tullahoma's finest and best-loved Gelato shop.

Born out of tragedy, the Grow’s have touched more lives than we are able to count. All profits from Legacy Creamery go to The Eli Grow Legacy Foundation formed in honor of their son Eli. Their next event is a 4 man scramble golf tournament on May 20th at Willowbrook Golf Course in Manchester, TN.

Here at Legacy Creamery, everything they make is handcrafted using only the best ingredients available, with as many locally sourced ingredients as possible while using their own personalized recipes.

They make small batches of gelato (2 gallons at a time), and there are also dairy-free and gluten-free options. They have produced over 80 different flavors so far and are always trying new ones. On this day Cassy was making Brown Sugar Pecan Gelato, this is a time-consuming process that she takes great pride in. She said, “Choose to take the time, this is the only way to make it right.”

And the pride goes beyond making their products, we were impressed with how clean and organized this business is. You can truly tell that Cassy and Tony insist on quality ingredients and cleanliness where they make and sell their products. They currently employ high school and college students that are learning skills that they will be able to carry with them in whatever career they choose, just another way the Grow's are serving others and making a positive impact on the community. These employees are learning by example how to serve with love. This is a business that is first and foremost holding true to its mission of giving back to the community. Their future looks bright and we look forward to seeing where they go next.

Their hours are Friday and Saturday 12-9 and Sunday 12-8. Make sure you stop in and try their products, there is something for everyone. Support small locally owned businesses. Especially one with as much love as Legacy Creamery. At the same time, you will enjoy the best gelato you’ve ever had.
