Jon English Antique Sports & Cards opened in September 2020.
This vintage sports store contains more than 5,000 items in the 3,000-square-foot layout, ranging in price from $1 to $1,000. That includes equipment, vintage and modern era cards, toys and games, football helmets and much more.
As an athlete and avid sports collector, the owner, Jon English, is proud to display the treasures he has acquired over the years.
He began to develop a love for sports as a child. “I remember my dad bringing home a new football or glove, and I would love the smell of the new leather, or the feel of my uniforms or a new pair of athletic shoes,” he said.
In his twenties, he started collecting sports items--things he could pick up and play with.
His collection of sports cards and memorabilia dates back decades, and he maintains contacts with other collectors in the circuit while selling items at the National Sport Collector Convention.
It has taken English a great deal of passion and enthusiasm to create an antique shop dedicated to sports. As much as he would like to see his shop succeed as a businessman, he simply enjoys showcasing sports antiques and providing a casual atmosphere.
Jon invites people in to engage their imaginations, fill their collections, learn about the history of sports, and perhaps begin a new lifelong hobby or passion of their own.
