1st American Filling Station is a must stop when you are in Pulaski, TN. It’s a throwback to a simpler time, reminiscent of when Arthur Fonzarelli, aka “The Fonz” and his friend Richie Cunningham would meet at the local soda shop for some “Happy Days!”

The first thing you notice is the vintage building with covered parking reminiscent of an old drive-in, and the colorfully painted advertising on the pristine white building. The gas pumps add to the outdoor nostalgia, the perfect setting for an antique automobile and a “throwback” photograph. The centralized location at 810 N. 1st St. and the atmosphere keep this place hopping.

The theme continues inside, with neon signs, “soda jerks” and diner cuisine (with a bit of a modern twist). Hotdogs, BBQ sandwiches, and acai bowls are all served-up in a spotless setting, complete with great Southern hospitality provided by the friendly staff.
We had the honor to be assisted by Garrison, a student at U T Southern majoring in Business. What a great place to learn about small business, while enticing people to try a delicious milkshake or coke float!
Owner Tracy is dedicated to providing quality, local products and collaborates with small businesses who supply pastries and doughnuts.
When small businesses work together everyone benefits. Customers frequently fill up at The 1st American Filling Station. We met “Santa” and Allen Dubberley who recommended the bbq sandwich. Thank you both for talking to us and sharing your love for Pulaski. For their full menu, https://www.1stamericanfillingstation.com/.
Step back in time and enjoy a visit to the 1st American Filling Station. It's a treat for your stomach and your eyes. They are open Mon.-Fri. 6 a.m. - 7 p.m., CDT and, Sat. & Sun. 7 a.m. - 7p.m. CDT.
