The Crazy Shake's Amazing Rise to Popularity

What's a crazy shake? It’s simply an enormous milkshake slopping over the rim of a handled Mason jar (or glass) and crowned with an epic collection of toppings. Eating a Crazy Shake is like having a party in your mouth - each bite is filled with a delightful combination of flavors and textures.

Since they were first invented, milkshakes have come a long way.

The first milkshake was created in 1922 by Walgreens employee Ivar "Pop" Coulson in Chicago. He took an old-fashioned malted milk and added two scoops of ice cream, creating a drink which soon became popular with young adults around the country.

The crazy-milkshake trend can be traced to Pâtissez, a café in Canberra, Australia, which introduced the Freakshow milkshake in 2015.

Crazy Shakes are usually served with an array of sweet treats such as candy, cookies, fruits, and whipped cream. They are the perfect combination of sweet, creamy, and crunchy and are a great indulgent treat.

At Hank's Family Diner in Hohenwald they have been serving their version of a Crazy Shake since 2019. At Hank's, Crazy Shakes are like an edible work of art, combining a variety of ingredients to create something that is unique, beautiful - and so much fun!
