The Wartrace Emporium is the kind of place you walk into out of curiosity and leave wondering why more shops aren’t like it. It’s part gallery, part boutique, and part hands-on creative space, all housed in a bright and welcoming storefront on the square in Wartrace.

Inside, you’ll find a thoughtful mix of handmade goods from over 40 local artists and makers across Middle Tennessee. From pottery and textiles to flavored salts, local jams, and jewelry, the shop offers a little bit of everything. Perfect for gifts or treating yourself to something unique.

Co-owner and creative director Julie Barrett opened the Emporium in 2023 with the goal of supporting local artists and bringing more life to the town’s historic square. That mission is clear in every corner of the shop. There's local coffee and handmade soap, stunning gourd-based lamps by Woodbury artist Jai Sheronda, and plenty of surprises you won’t see anywhere else.

The Emporium also hosts regular workshops led by local artists. Whether it's seasonal crafts, painting, or mixed media art, these classes are casual, beginner-friendly, and a great way to try something new in a relaxed environment. It’s worth exploring just for the range of items, from quirky trinkets to refined artwork. And with Rock House Deli now right next door, you can grab lunch or coffee before or after you shop.

You won’t find a store quite like it anywhere else nearby, and that’s what makes it worth the stop. Come for the shopping, stay for the people, and leave knowing you supported someone local.
