Mary Catherine Jarmon went from doing everything she could to leave her home state to hopping around it and ultimately falling in love with Columbia, TN, after growing up in Memphis and attending school near Chattanooga. At some point during college she made it her mission to always have the best local recommendations for friends and visitors, and that desire only multiplied after moving to Maury County, a place steeped in local pride.

For years after becoming involved in her town, her friends often told her to start something local, but it wasn’t until she was laid off from her longstanding corporate job that Mary Catherine (MCat to her friends) finally threw herself into creating content for local businesses as well as her own page of local features, Muletown Moments. 

Specializing in vlog-style content, MCat continues to prop up all of the unique spots in Columbia, TN and beyond as she explores the state, makes recommendations, and manages social media for small businesses.
