Upon arriving at Country Sunshine Cabins you are warmly welcomed by owners Melodie Hill and Phil Faith. They have created a place that everyone will enjoy. The Gathering Barn is the first thing you will notice. This large structure is warm and welcoming. It has been tastefully and beautifully decorated with antiques and no small detail has been overlooked. The Barn is the perfect place for any event you want to celebrate. Weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, church retreats, reunions, you name it they can accommodate it.
The antiques are magnificent. I could have spent all my time just admiring them. Many are available for purchase. They even have many interesting pieces to admire scattered on the property and in each cabin. Don't forget to see the Linden UBER, this reflects the owners sense of humor as do other things you may find. We found many “Easter eggs” hidden that wait to be found. Outside they provide comfortable seating, and it's the perfect place to sit and enjoy the view with a cold drink. It doesn't matter if you chose to sit on the roadside or creek side and if you fall asleep that's ok, they have throws scattered for your use. No judging here! As a matter of fact that's a compliment, they love seeing people relax.
They are a short drive to Mousetail Landing State Park, Lady’s Bluff, The Tennessee River, and The Buffalo River. Kayak and Canoe outfitters are close by, we highly recommend a float down the Buffalo River. If you want to enjoy a hike they have acres with trails here to enjoy and Lady’s Bluff is known for their hiking. Our favorite activity to enjoy when in this area is to walk the sidewalks in Linden and visit the stores. Just ask Melodie and Phil and they will direct you to whatever activity you want.
The cabins are magnificent and the decorations match the theme for each one. The attention to detail doesn't end at the Gathering Barn as each cabin is outfitted with everything you will need while here. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge and microwave, dishes and pots and pans. They have a comfortable spot to sit and relax, comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. Games are available at the Barn and in each Cabin. The creek is spring fed and there are a few places you can soak and relax. Many children have spent carefree afternoons catching crawdads. Their cabins are spread out and all of the porches face the creek, firewood and chairs are provided as well as s'mores to provide for the perfect ending to a day at Country Sunshine Cabins. There are a few things they do not have here, internet access, phone signals, and TV. This is the place to shut down and reconnect with one another. Unplugging is the magic about this hide-away! You'll feel relaxed the moment you arrive and this stays with you during your stay. Come to unwind and disconnect and the cares and worries of day to day life take a back seat.
One night we enjoyed visiting with family who live in the area, Melodie and Phil joined us and we laughed and enjoyed each other's company. The best part was listening to the coyotes howl and the dogs joining in. At the end of our stay, we didn't want to leave. We know we will return soon and look forward to seeing our new friends Melodie and Phil.
